The desire to launch a business is full force in the idea stage. There’s excitement, creativity, and risk-taking shooting in every possible direction. There’s so much opportunity and possibility awaiting.
But then little by little, realization leads to anxiety… this isn’t going to be easy, this is presenting problems I didn’t even know existed, I didn’t think it would take this long to be profitable….
I’ve seen this happen all too often. What started as a thrilling adventure is now muddled with have-to’s and problem solving. And then the effort, the excitement, the creativity start to dwindle. We stop reveling in possibility and start getting stuck in anxiety. And it’s hard to pull ourselves out of. We’re at a crossroads and we can ether give into the struggle or we can push through it.
Don’t do give in. Don’t fall into the trap of believing it’s too hard to pull off. It has taken down too many talented designers with businesses that have real potential.
Keep saying this to yourself: You get what you give. You get what you give.
And believe it.
Push past that rough patch that we all have experienced in our businesses and keep going with the knowledge that it will pass.
Understand that you are at a critical point in the success of your business. You can either let yourself fall into the belief that this is too hard, too risky, too far from what you had hoped for, and lose your dreams and goals, or you can push past these feelings, and remember that the more effort, creativity, excitement, and purpose you put into it now will result in the getting what you want later.
You. Get. What. You. Give.
Say it.
If you’re struggling right now, don’t stop trying. If you’re wondering if it’s worth it, it is. If you’re thinking this is just too much to get through, it’s not.
Give it absolutely everything you’ve got, designers. And I think you’ll be thrilled with what you wind up with.
Lots of love and encouragement,
Mardiyath
