Fashion Business Owner Musings: Use Challenges to Fuel Determination

Sometimes something in our business is not working and finding the solution feels impossible. Or sometimes we don’t know how to do something in our business  and figuring it out can prove to be a big challenge.

When’s there’s no clear solution or next step, and you’ve been trying everything you can think of but nothing seems to work, it can be very discouraging.

This thing is, business is a series of challenges that need to be overcome. That’s something that will never stop happening.

The more we grow and push ourselves to expand, the more new things we will have to learn, try, fail, and try again.

And how we think about this inevitable process says a lot about how will run our businesses and what kind of leaders we will be.

I talk about this a lot in the free class I host about how to launch your fashion business because when you’re launching something new, the number of obstacles that pop up can sometimes feel insurmountable. But I promise you, they’re not.

The trick is to look at those challenges as exciting challenges.

Think of them as puzzles you need to solve.

Use them to fuel the determination you have to reach your goals.

When faced with challenges in business you have two options: Tell yourself you don’t know enough to get past the challenge and give up, or…

Decide that you will use this challenge as a way of proving to yourself what you’re truly capable of!

Sometimes just talking to someone about what you’re going through and getting a fresh perspective is all you need to have a clear idea of what you need to do next.

Sometimes you need more than that; maybe you have to rework something in your business or maybe you have to take a completely new approach.

Whatever it is, don’t be too scared to try.

Use these difficulties as fuel; make them the things that keep you determined to succeed! Even when it seems practically impossible.

Lots of love and encouragement,
