I talk a lot about textile shows in New York. Why? Well first, because I live here. And second, there is so much going on in this city when it comes to fabric. Spending an afternoon in the garment district alone can be enough to make your head spin. The thing is, contrary to what the natives like to think, New York is not the end-all-be-all when it comes to industry events. So when, while thumbing through the latest issue of Textile Insight, I came across an ad for GlobalTex in Los Angeles, I decided it was high time to highlight something on the left coast.
The show is taking place from September 28th to the 30th and it features the complete supply chain from design to production. There is a decent list of presenters, a smattering of conferences and seminars, and an entire section dedicated to technology for the sewn products industry. Sounds pretty good, right?
So, I’m curious. Has anyone on the west coast attended? And even more importantly, has anyone on the east coast attended? Was it worth the trip? Because, not that I need any additional reasons to take a trip to Cali, but it could be the last push I need to book a seat on the plane.
